03 - Granada and Malaga

The view out of our room when we got there - notice how its almost light - yeah it was almost 5 am.

The view out of the window at sunrise

See two images back - the same view at sunrise

Navigating through Granada town - to the Cathedral

Probably the most decorated cathedral in Spain - definitely on our trip. One of the side altars

The Ceiling - notice the development in the rib design and structure

Outside the cathedral in the spice market

We were so close to Morocco I could feel it (on my head)

Lunch at a streetside cafe - while we were lost - funny how its always easier to find the way on a full stomach.

Outside the Malaga Cathedral...

and finally... LA ALHAMBRA ! Walking around the outer walls to get to the Nasrid Palaces

The entire palace is enchanting, like being in a mediterranean dream

The inner walls - inside lay all the patterns and arches the Alhambra is renowned for

Almost there !

Corridors

One of the courtyards...

This is what its all about..

Another Courtyard... resplendent !

The attention to detail was astounding !

The courtyard of lions

a closer look...

Even the cobblestone-ing was unique

Trust Prateek to make it shaky

Time for a little reflection... taking in the rays

One of the gardens

Focusing..!

The view...!

and more...

Outside the palace...taken with the timer and tripod, where I had to click it and run around the hedge to get into the picture...

In the Generalife - the garden and botanical portion of the Alhambra...just as serene as the palaces

More Velveeta !

I could have spent days there.. !

the courtyards, gardens and fountains just kept coming...

On the way out...! What a place... a definite must see.. !

A Dam on the way to Malaga

Stretching.. after a long drive (halfway) and a LONG and memorable day in Granada...

Dinner at the local restaurant in Benamacarra - where our B&B was

The Malaga Bullring - the last stop before the Big time for most of the aspiring Matadors

Not much going on that day...

Ancient ruins of an amphitheatre..

Inside the Alcazaba - another Palace/fortress buit by the Moors...

Reflecting/comparing ... a few moments of solitude

Looking up to the sky..

Coffee table book picture

Guess what.. more courtyards...

the cathedral in Malaga..Built over an arabic (Moorish) structure...

another view of the Cathedral

We kept missing the bullfights .. this one in Marbella while we were in Malaga..

Spain's South beach and Copacabana .. the Malagueta Playa

Eating Snails in Estepona..
